The interaction between an antibody (Ab) and an antigen (Ag) is a highly specific bimolecular association, which involves various non covalent interactions between the antigen epitope and the variable region of the antibody molecule. The noncovalent interactions involved in the Ab-Ag interactions include hydrogen bonds, ionic bonds, hydrophobic interactions, and the Van der Waal’s interactions.
