The acquired immune system involves the activity of B and T cells. B cells are involved in humoral response, they mature in the bone marrow and each B cell has on its surface unique antibody molecules. T-cells mature in the thymus gland, they express a unique antigen binding receptor, T-cells receptors. T- cells differentiates into memory T-cells and effector T-cells. Also there are two types of effector T-cells, T helper (TH) cells and T cytotoxic (TC) cells.
