Overview/Competency demonstration
This Workbook covers the following unit of competency:Plan and prepare.
Work instructions and operational details are obtained using relevant information, confirmed and applied for planning and preparationpurposes.
Materials appropriate to the work application are identified, obtained, prepared, safely handled and located ready for use.
Environmental requirementsare identified for the project in accordance with environmental plans and regulatory obligations and applied.
Prime and intermediate coats are applied to specifications, allowed to dry thoroughly and sanded to a smooth, even finish.
Final coat is applied without imperfections, flowing out to an even, smooth finish in accordance with manufacturer specifications and/or job specifications.
Acrylic finishesare applied to achieve an even finish in accordance with manufacturer specifications and/or job specifications
Apply lining by brush.
Stencildesign is selected and laid out onto recommended material.
Specified transfer method, is used and design is cut accurately using a 'register' mark. Initial stencil is placed and taped to designed location and paint is applied to produce colour to specifications.
