HOME NURSING:

Since the first dawn of the introduction of medicines and the enlargement of medical science in the world, the techniques and methods to cure a patient of his disease have only improved with the passage of time hereby framing out such means of treatment for a patient which works in a more effective way ensuring a quick recovery for the patient. Such has been the need for home nursing ever since the medical sciences were been revealed. What better way than a home to get cured and recover of any disease. It has often been found that the patient is quite more comfortable in the home premises than in any other medical faculty. The constant care and love being administered by the family members and the supervision of the trained professional nurses with the regular monitoring of the patient’s health enable for a faster and smoother recovery of a patient. There are a number of both government and private institutions who are globally popularizing the need of the home nursing much more than rushing to the hospitals every now and then. This means of medical service has become much more convenient and reliable as the medical aid is being delivered to the patient right away at his doorstep.

It is quite obvious that the focus of the home nursing today has undergone a tremendous change From the years when this form of nursing was only restricted to the pregnant ladies of the family to the times when doulas were appointed as a part of the home nursing and now when the EN and the RN serve the most important purpose and provide assistance in all sorts of home nursing which has almost no distinctive disease which cannot be cured under this context.

  • RECORDING BLOOD PRESSURE, PULSE AND RESPIRATION – The enrolled nurse is assigned to the work of reporting all the actions and activities of the patient to the registered nurse and the doctor therefore he/she makes sure on a regular basis to check and maintain a record of the blood pressure, pulse and proper respiration of the patient and keep them aware of the fluctuating or constant levels of the same.

  • CONDUCTING PHYSIOTHERAPY UNDER SUPERVISION – Certain enrolled nurses who are being given patients with either muscular or joint problems ensure sessions of physiotherapy for the patients at regular time intervals so that the patient recovers sooner.

RECOGNITION OF THE IMPACT OF THE HEALTH PROBLEM ON A CLIENT:

  • IDENTIFYING PREFERANCES AND NEED FOR CLIENTS- Every patient’s needs are wholly poles apart. It depends upon the type of disease that has gripped the patient and the intensity of the severity of it that a proper treatment and preference chart model is being designed by the nurses for him keeping in mind the requisites that the patient must be provided with.

  • ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY FOR CLIENTS – It does not matter what the disease is and how the person has acquired it. All what matters is the environment around the patient. The nurse makes sure that there are positive energies of optimism around the patient along with proper hygiene check on the cleanness of the environment.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES IN CARING FOR THE CLIENTS:

  • HIV/AIDS CARE – It is earnestly mandatory for the nurses to make sure that the patient does not acquire AIDS through any possible means of defaulted injections and syringes. Also it is very important that if the patient is already a victim of this disease then proper cleanness and health measures should be adopted for the recovery of the patient.

  • CONTINENCE MANAGEMENT – The nurses who are expert in the management of the continence are hired to treat those patients who cannot control their bowel movements and bladder sensations. Such nurses help the patients to recover from their illness as soon as possible.

  • SEXUAL HEALTH CARE – The home nursing deals with the ability to understand the mindset of the patients who are to be looked after by the nurses and the doctors. The nurses make sure that you are been taken care of your intimate organs and at no point you have the urge to desolate from the sexual feelings towards your spouse.

  • HEALTH PROMOTION – The aim of the clinical institutions which provide home nursing have the aim to promote the cause of better health for every individual and try to cure the people of their diseases and make them stronger to recover from the grip of that disease.

WAYS TO AN EFFECTIVE CARE PLAN FOR THE TREATMENT OF THE CLIENT:

PATIENT’S NAME – JOE DAVIDSON.

DISEASE DIAGNOSED – ASPIRATION PNEUMONIA.

  • The nurse who has been looking after the patient must keep a regular check on the proper respiration of the patient and inform the doctors in case of artificial supply of oxygen is required for the patient or not.

  • The nurse should also make sure that the tube of the patient gets cleaned at regular intervals so that the mucus and other coughed up materials by the patient do not go back into the mouth of the patient as it can detrimental as well as fatal.
