Commutative Property : x + y = y + x
Distributive Property : x(y + z) = xy +xz
Range of a Relation or Function : Set of output values.
Slope : The ratio of vertical change (rise) over horizontal change (run).
Median : The middle number(s) when numbers are listed in numerical order.
Mode : The number that appears most frequently in a set of numbers.
Radical : A number containing a radical sign and a radicand.
index : A numeral or letter written above and to the left of the radical sign to indicate the required root.
Complex Number : A number written in standard form as a + bi; where a and b are real numbers.
Exponent : The number of a power that determines how many times the base is multiplied by itself.
Slope-Intercept Form of a Linear Equation : y=mx+b
Standard Form of a Linear Equation : Ax + By = C
Constant Polynomial : A polynomial where the highest degree of x is 0.
Linear Polynomial : A polynomial where the highest degree of x is 1.
Extraneous Solution : a solution that does not make the original equation true.
Conjugate : A binomial formed by negating the second term of a binomial.
Even and Odd Functions : A function f is said to be even if f(-x)=f(x). A function f is said to be odd if f(-x)=-f(x)
Common Logarithm : a logarithm to the base 10
Independent Events : When the occurance of one event DOES NOT affect the outcome of the other.
Theoretical Probability : When all outcomes are equally likely to occur, then the P(A)= #of favorable outcomes/# of all outcomes
