Business Analysis Case Study
This report is about the identification of a technological change in Woolworths Company. The identified opportunity is about the transitioning of the company’s operations to automation. The company seeks to make this change, minimize costs, and improve its customers' quality delivery.
The stakeholders, who the change could have negative implications on, are the employees because the robots will replace them. A RASCI matrix is presented in the report, which shows the potential stakeholders and their roles in the project. Other things utilized to describe the change include the requirement analysis template, user case stories, and a traceability matrix.
1.0 Introduction
This business report is about an opportunity identification and a business analysis of the opportunity, using a case of Woolworths Company. The identified opportunity is based on the news article by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Australia, which indicated that the company intends to automate its most of its operations. The company currently has around 1300 employees, and with the automation, about 700 individuals might lose their jobs. The key topics discussed in this report include the strategic analysis of the new opportunity, identifying stakeholders involved, the analysis and design requirements, and the requirements for life cycle analysis. Diagrams will also be present in the report.2.0 Strategic analysis
Woolworths Company is the largest retail store in Australia. Being a large retail industry requires a large number of workers in both the stores and the warehouses. However, relying on the human work force has always been a challenge for many big corporations because it is too costly. Sometimes, the outcome may not be of excellent quality. Therefore, it is one of the reasons why, the company’s management opted to resort to automation technology, particularly in the company’s warehouses (Janda, 2020). The primary aim of adopting automation technology in the distribution store was to improve operations efficiency by enhancing the product delivery time and minimizing the number of the company’s trucks on the roads (Buttler, 2020). Automation is more advantageous than humans are because automated machines or robots can do tasks faster and with no errors compared to human labor. Some of the core benefits of automation include; reduced costs, the operations are more efficient and accurate, improved inventory management, enhanced customer satisfaction, and enhanced product-delivery time (Hendry, 2020).BUSINESS ANALYSIS CASE STUDY 6

5.1 Recommendations for the best design
The most appropriate design that the company needs to adopt is the second design. The first design largely focuses on the roles performed by the robots, which will operate almost
everything leaving human work force irrelevant. However, since the company seeks to maintain half the employees, the second design is most suitable, because it covers the needs that enhance a better interaction between the machines and the humans. Other than providing the roles of the robots, the second design focuses on a much effective way of managing both humans and the machines.
6.2 Requirement traceability matrix
The traceability matrix plays a critical role of ensuring that all the requirements are traced and verified based on the roles played by different shareholders. Below is table showing the traceable matrix for this project.

7.0 Conclusion
This business report covered the discussion of a Woolworth’s company business opportunity, to transition from human labor, to automation. The company's core objective is to save costs while also expanding the company growth through enhanced faster delivery of products and services.
