The simulated worksite must have realistic tasks, relevant specifications and work instructions, standard work practices, safety requirements and environmental constraints. | |
The trainer/assessor must provide the student with the worksite’s plans, specifications and drawings. | |
The trainer/assessor must ensure the simulated site and its surroundings are accessible and clear of hazards, so far as reasonably practicable. | |
The trainer/assessor must ensure the simulated site has realistic workplace conditions, standards, materials, activities, responsibilities, procedures, safety requirements, and environmental considerations. | |
An experienced simulated employee (which can be played by the assessor) can provide adequate guidance and supervision to less experienced employees. | |
The students must have the clothing and footwear required. In addition, the clothing and footwear must be in good condition and suitable for the task. |
Instructions for trainer/assessor:
The trainer/assessor must arrange for a simulated worksite for the student to carry out the activities. The simulated worksite must be a close simulation of a workplace environment that replicates construction workplace conditions, materials, activities, responsibilities and procedures. The simulated worksite must meet the requirements given in the ‘Simulated workplace environment requirements’ section given below.
The trainer/assessor must provide a verbal briefing for each assessment activity prior to commencement.
Instructions for the student:
The student must follow organisational procedures, industry standards, equipment specifications, regulations, codes of practice and operations manuals during the completion of the assessment activities.

Implement the requirements, procedures and techniques for establishing and maintaining a quality system
