Creating an environment to foster development, play and learning.
Part A
a) Description: I see the children pretending to cook each other different foods, while one child was the Dad and the other was the baby. They took it in turns to be the dad.
b) The stage of play that I observed is: Cooperative play.
e) I could provide in this play to encourage the activity old baking trays, plates and cups, and possibly a small table and chairs, so they could have
somewhere to eat their ‘food’.f) An indoor activity that would be suitable for the children I observed would be a cooking experience. I chose this experience as the children had showed they had an interest in ‘preparing food’ in the sand pit.

Part C
Do they have time to decide who is going to play what role?
Will they have time to have a turn at a different role?
How many children are there?
Will there be enough dolls, doll’s accessories and dress up clothes for all of them?
Do the materials match the children’s needs, interests and abilities?
it was a small group then only one staff would be involved.
5. To ensure the activity is safe, I would need to consider the following things:
Part A
1. The adult’s role was a player, as he was playing a doctor.
4. The play was maintained by the children working out a solution to their problem
and started playing with the blocks together.

5. To extend the experience I looked on the craft trolley and in the art room for more things the children could try threading or use for their collage.
6. Yes, the children have done threading before with pasta, however I provided different types of beads (where they usually only have 1 type of pasta). I chose to do this so I could discuss with the children that there are different types of materials and sizes available for threading.

dress up clothes and looked around for a different activity to do.

6. It is important to provide interesting and varied outdoor spaces where children can play as this encourages them to be more active and want to spend more time outside.
