Childcare educator should understand that intentional teaching/intentionality can occur in child initiated and educator directed learning experiences and intentional teaching can be planned or spontaneous. Educator should also understand that intentional teaching/intentionality is based in knowledge of children’s cultural contexts gained through interactions with children and their families and children’s skills, knowledge and understandings gained through interactions and assessment of children’s learning and development .

EYLF has a focus on helping children transition into school by giving them opportunities to maximise potential and develop a foundation for success and learning, while MTMP insures children already in schooling have opportunities to participate in leisure based experiences which contribute to ongoing learning and development. c. EYLF is designed for Early Childhood Educators working in partnership with families, while MTMP is designed for use by School Age Care Educators to collaborate with children and work in partnership with family and communities, including schools. MTMP allows for children to have a more active role in planning for their wellbeing and the outcomes.
