Course Description:
This course covers the elementary theory of vector spaces. Topics include linear independence, bases, dimension, linear maps and matrices, determinants, orthogonality, eigenvalues and eigenvectors.

Elementary Linear Algebra (1st Edition)by Edwards C. H. and Penney David E.Teaching Methodology:
Lectures, Home Work Assignments, In-Class Quizzes and Mid-Semester Examination.
If you miss any of the Exams due to a valid reason accepted by the College, then you need to get the written authorization from the Program Head to make it up. In this case the required percentage is calculated from the Final examination.
Here is how questions of these exams will be graded: 3/3 credit: Excellent or Perfect. No errors.
2/3 credit: One or two minor errors, i.e. missing a sign, numerical computational errors. Or one minor step in solution is missing.

As per ANC’s policy on attendance, your cumulative attendance counted up to the ninth week of the semester should be at least sixty-five per cent. Else, the probability of being administratively withdrawn from the course is high. Please refer Section 1 of ANC’s student handbook for the policy on attendance.

Employing a surrogate to take an examination, write a paper, or complete, in whole or in part, an assignment;Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the presentation of words, ideas or views of someone else as if they were one’s own. Plagiarism is intellectual dishonesty and, as such, is a serious academic offense. The potential penalties for plagiarism range from an unsatisfactory grade in the course (an ‘F” or ‘no credit’), a letter of sanction placed in the student’s permanent academic file, or even dismissal from the university. Plagiarism includes:
passing off another’s written work as your own;
failing to give credit to your sources for the ideas, information, and words you have borrowed from them;
not quoting when you use another’s exact words;
not changing the wording or sentence structure significantly enough when you paraphrase a source.

Course Evaluation
Course evaluations are held by the end of the tenth/eleventh week of the semester.
