Assessment Task 4: Project (MVC Web-Based Application Development)
Information for students
This project is designed to help you demonstrate the skills which you have acquired during the learning phase of this unit. Ensure that you:
o your learning resources and other information for reference
o required templates and applications
Ensure that you:
o review the advice to students regarding responding to written tasks in the IT Works Student User Guide
o comply with the due date for assessment which your assessor will provide o adhere with your KII’s submission guidelines
o
answer all questions completely and correctly o submit work which is original and, where necessary, properly referenced
o submit a completed cover sheet with your work
o avoid sharing your answers with other students.

Re-submission opportunities
You will be provided feedback on their performance by the Assessor. The feedback will indicate if you have satisfactorily addressed the requirements of each part of this task.
Complete the following tasks
Part A: Apply object-oriented language skills and MVC pattern
1. Use Microsoft Visual Studio IDE and C# to build your object-oriented application and follow guidelines for developing maintainable code adhering to C# coding standards.
2. Apply Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern for the development of your web application using Microsoft.NET Framework.
7. Use C# data collections classes and arrays to store data temporarily before passing it to the database. Use exceptions to ensure program stability.

11. Create a Web User Control for the footer of the pages. Provide the business contact details in the footer.
12. Register the header and footer with all of the web pages to ensure that the look and feel of the web site is the same on each web page.
3. Resolve errors by tracing code and examining variable content
4. Test compatibility in at least 3 of the major browsers, such as Microsoft Edge, Chrome, and Firefox

Performance Criteria
The following documentation/coding criteria must be followed for each submission:
1. Use the ASP.NET and C# coding syntax rules and best practices
2. Apply object-oriented concepts in your code, i.e., use of classes
3. Use MS-SQL Server database to provide information on slips and boats
4. Debug code using integrated IDE based tools:
a) Test document includes debugging techniques/tools used
b) Tests conducted, e.g., black box, white box tests
c) Test documentation e.g., test cases, test scripts, test results etc.Deliverables
