ISO 14001 is an international standard prescribing a structured approach to environmental protection. It enables organisations of all sizes to develop and implement policies to deliver environmentally responsible and sustainable business practices.

- Licensing of many activities including: Fabricated metal, timer manufacturing, food processing, water treatment, waste management, etc.

- On-site with companies for example: mining - to make sure they have measures in place to handle the predicted weather to avoid environmental wrongdoing.

- Office teams assess environmental impacts, fielding calls from people in regards to applying for a license to receiving information on a pollution event.

- Environmental Officers checking compliance and could be out responding to pollution events, measuring levels and taking samples.

What other actions can you take?

You will be collecting evidence for this unit in a Project Portfolio. The steps you need to take are outlined below. Begin by completing page 4 of your Project portfolio and conforming this with your assessor.

Thus, the sustainability assessment would be based on an office environment which will be possible for you complete regardless of whether you are studying in the classroom or online.
