healthcare for the uninsured and those who have large out of pocket and premiums. In some of these models patients are flown states away for their care and placed in a hotel pre-operatively and remain in a care bed post-operatively for follow-up. The model also includes payment for a family member to attend with you. Often these include hotel, flight, and food costs. Many of these centers are also offering spa visits at the hotel, for the family that travels with the family member during post-op care. This model appears to be working. Why is this model working? Often employers work with payors and negotiate better reimbursement in payment to the facility, making it affordable for both the facility and the patient.

Discuss the existing programs and service lines in the healthcare organization that could serve as complementary components of the new service line
One area that could serve as a complementary service line would be to have physical and occupational service, improved prior to the opening. The best that could be done until there is an expansion in capacity for services, is to consider hiring additional schedulers or therapists, if the center can accept it.
5 Year Orthopedic Financial Projection
17338 x $25,000 = 433.45 in Gross Billable
433.45 million x 35% Collection Rate = $151.7075 million gross profit 433.45 million x 31% cost to charge = $134.3695 Million cost
151.7075 – 134.3695 = $17.338 Million in total profitTotal profit resulting in around 17 Million. This means in the one to one and half year, the new orthopedic center could begin to pay off the initial investment placed into the facility, after this is done, it would be easy to say that Trinity Health with the 1-1.5 Million dollar in profit would be able to begin to work on the long range plan of developing preventative health measure for
Consider a grand opening with food and offer public tours of the new surgery center and educate both the medical community and the general public on all of the services provided.
As it relates to on-going marketing, Trinity Health should consider educational luncheon’s and invite such parties as primary care office managers, supervisors, office schedulers, and therapy services. This would allow for on-going marketing making a personal connection of the services offered.
