Business practice of the organization in a practical perspective
I have started my internship with One Stop Franchise, UK. This internship has helped me to strengthen my marketing practices. Apart from that I have clearly understood the seller-buyer relationship from this internship. One-stop franchise, UK has the unique business model. This is one of the reason I have joined as an intern in this organization. It was a self-organized internship where I came to know about the different projects and the condition of doing business of this organization. The main thing I have noticed about this organization is that, the organization is capable of doing business and also helps the other organization through consultancy. In this case, if the owner of the individual shop is not getting proper exposer, the one stop franchise will help to guide them in such a way that they will get proper level of recognition. After working with the organization I can say that the organization has two types of consulting those are provided for the different types of situation. The organization has different consulting approach for the owner of the group of companies and on the other hand the organization has different approach for the owner of the single organization.
From the internship I have learnt the consulting for the business organization as well as the managing the consumers and the sellers. This internship has given me a chance to deal with the business clients as well as I can analyze the situation and can generate feedback in a proper way. However, I have felt some of the challenges while working in the organization. Apart from that I have learnt some of the problem solving solutions those can be raised during the marketing of the product or business.
Aims and objective
The main aim and objective of this self-organized internship is to understand the business practice of the organization in a practical perspective. From the internship I have worked in the real time project which helped me to understand the real industry problems. Apart from that I can deal with the clients. The main aim of this internship is to get the proper business exposer of the individual. As I am interested in the marketing I have chosen One Stop Franchise as it deals with the marketing and consultancy.
The main aim of the self-organized internship is to get the proper exposer to the real world problem. This helps me to enhance my intellect and the ability for the decision making. Apart from that evolving the relation between the demand of the work and the ability helps me to understand my strengths and the weakness. While working in the project as an intern I have understood the way to interact with the people and I have understood the application of the theories I have studied in my Assignment. However, I have found out that some of the theories may deliver hypothetical solutions however, during the real world situation, those solutions are not feasible.
I have developed my analytical skills. Through the process of the project development and managing the requirements of the clients, I have understood the ways of handling the situations in a smarter way. Apart from that I have found out that the achievement motivates me to do better work. In this case I can say that I have understood that I have a need for the achievement. On the other hand my communication skill has improved. I have achieved positive to accomplish my work and become optimistic in critical situation. I have found out that I have key managerial ability to handle the problem and execute the instructions in a proper way. Apart from that I can improvise the work if it is needed.
Types of experience
The type of the internship I have gone through is a formal internship. It was a self-organized internship in One Stop Franchise, UK. My role in the organization is to manage the clients and understanding the requirements of the clients. While doing this I have come to know that on the basis of the visibility of the business of the individuals the organization providers consultant regarding the business solutions. I have learnt the application of the different business models. Different business models are applicable for the different business organization. The different types of the business models are also depend on the type of the business the organization is doing. In order to select the proper business model there is a need for the analytical understanding of the requirement of the business. I have understood the aim of the one Stop Franchise. The main aim of this marketing and the consultancy company is to provide the proper business solutions to the individuals. Apart from that the organization is also believes in maintain the quality of the service they provide to the consumers and the clients. In order to maintain the quality they provide proper training to the employees of the organization. As an intern I have gone through such training and those were helpful to enhance my skill sets.
One thing I have learnt from this internship is the negotiation process in the business management. Negotiation process can make the success of the project. Apart from that I have understood the importance of the proper communication in the business management. Through the proper communication the understanding of the requirements of the client can be achieved. Apart from that in case if any problem is faced I have understood to maintain the management hierarchy for the communication.
During the internship I have visited some of the client organizations of One Stop Franchise in order to understand the business process. In this case, I have figured out the different organizations have different work culture. In that case, it is a challenge for the management consultant to understand the work culture and taking steps accordingly. In that case, proper business model is needed to be created as it will be best suited for the client organization. In order to understand this there is a need for the proper development of the analytical ability. I have found out that the improvement of the analytical ability can be achieved through the proper management practice and the hands in projects.
I have made some of the mistakes in understanding the situation during my internship. However, I have learnt a lot from those mistakes. Those mistakes actually improves my ability to coordinate and work more consciously in the organization. Apart from that I have understood the behavior the organization. I have understood the importance of maintain the hierarchy in the organization. On the other hand I have understood the importance of the nonverbal communication in the organization. It is important to maintain proper work culture and the work environment for getting the best results. I have identified some of the weakness during my internship. I have faced some of the cultural gap while working with the other people as the organization have diverse work force. Apart from that I was getting a feeling of being insecure as there was much more uncertainty present in the outcome of the project. Apart from that I was not ready to take the risky decisions when it is required. In this case, I have eliminated the cultural gap through the proper communication skill which I have developed throughout the internship. On the other hand, I have achieved analytical ability that has helped me to understand the situation and take proper actions regarding this.
On the other hand, I have understood the working stress and the benefits in a diverse situation. In this case, I have to do better negotiation process that will maintain the requirement of the clients as well as not violating the rules and regulations of the organization. During this process my seniors and the managers of the organization has helped me I have learned from their lectures and their way of working. Apart from that I asked them for the feedback of my work so that I can modify my mistakes and improve my work. The generation of the feedback has helped me to identify my areas for the improvements.
From the overall experience I can say , during the internship I have managed to gain the insights of the management and the marketing. Apart from that I have achieved some of the intangible attributes like the communication skill and the analytical skills those are important for the good manager. On the other hand I have identified my strength and weakness as well as I am trying to improve my skill sets. It can be said from my perspective that the self-organized internship was great beneficial for me.
Apart from that I can understand the different between the selling and marketing after doing this internship. As well as I am aware about the value added services those are required in the marketing and consulting. In this case I adding value to the service is also dependent on me. I think the learnings I have gained from this internship will help me strengthen my knowledge in the marketing and consulting. In future while managing the more challenging situation, I can able to negotiate and carry out the project in a proper way.
Assessment of experience
Situation: a critical learning decision that had been acquired by me includes a situation where our project team was chosen such that every sub part of the project is doable by one or a group of employees. The team leader had decided that the employees who do not have experience in certain activities would be provided with proper training and then they would be provided with individual tasks. After the employees are done with their training in certain fields their activities were categorized in the areas where they had provided with training. The main issues that had been faced by the employees was the fact that they were provided with the training on the initial concepts relevant to the areas and the project included knowledge regarding the advanced concepts of the areas, this had resulted in insufficient knowledge regarding the areas and hence the project was affected in a negative manner.
Affect: the employees who had insufficient knowledge on the areas were unable to carry out the tasks in an effective manner. This had resulted in failure of the entire project. The employees who had sufficient knowledge in the areas had to get involved within the activities that was not their responsibility. This had resulted in delaying other tasks where they were supposed to complete within time. The entire project was delayed due to this. One more issues that had been occurred included the fact that the employees were very friendly with each other, they had a clear communication channel among them. The employees had been busier in communication with each other and gossiping that they neglected their responsibilities towards the project. This had further resulted in incompletion of project and the activities were not completed in an effective manner. This had further affected me personally. I had undertaken the internship for the purpose of gaining positive knowledge and learn9ning more about the areas. I was frustrated at some point and wanted to escape the internship. I was confused at some times because I had thought that I understood what I was supposed to do. I had known that I was supposed to carry out my own responsibilities and contribute in the project, but due to the issues, I was neither able to carry out my activities in an effective manner nor I was able to learn much regarding the project. I had tried to turn out everything to normal, but mu initiatives had failed and I was unable to convince the project leader in providing the activities to employees who are well trained in them or have sufficient knowledge in the area.
Interpretation: the new learning completely contradicts with my knowledge, I had known the fact that better or clear communication channel would help a certain project in carrying out the activities within it in an effective manner without any barrier and the overall project would be successful. The better communication among employees help them in opening up with each other and share issues with each other along with solving them in cooperation. I have also known the fact that training unskilled employees would help them in carrying out the activities effectively. This was supposed to help the project in having more innovative ideas from the employees. These knowledge’s had been contradictory in this case because the communication channel had become one of the most vital disadvantage in the project. The employees had been more involved in communication with each other and concentrate less in carrying out their activities. This had changed my understanding or the knowledge, I have learnt that the communication channel among the employees should be clear but excess communication hampers the entire project. One more fact that could be stated from this situation is that the employees who are well trained in certain areas should be provided with the activities relevant to the areas, this is because it would help the employees in carrying out the activities in an effective manner and the entire project would be completed within deadline and with complete dedication. These facts represent that the knowledge that I had regarding the team work and executing a certain project had completely been contradictory to the ideas that I have achieved from the internship.
Decision: the decision that I had undertaken for the purpose of helping me in future includes the fact that the communication channel among the employees should be clear without any doubt but there must be a certain limit up to which the communication should be limited. I have decided that I would not involve much in the communication process and concentrate more in the entire process. One more lesson that I have learnt includes the fact that I would always perform the tasks in which I have sufficient knowledge and which I would be able to carry out effectively. I would note down this knowledge for future use. I have discussed regarding the decision with my supervisors, I have informed them and asked them how they the decisions are to be undertaken and which aspects must be considered to be important for improving these concepts.
Supervisors had been our main person for contact at the time of the professional field experience. We were provided the guidance of four supervisors during our internship and they had provided us with knowledge regarding the internship and the project that we had carried out and that we had been a part of. The supervisors who had helped us had enough experience in the purpose or goal of the group and have earned the entire position on the basis of the belief of management, they were capable of guiding the entire team. The supervisors were responsible for scheduling as well as working shifts as well as hours. Coordinating the overall job rotation along with cross training. The supervisors had provided feedbacks that were real time in nature, these feedbacks were provided with the performance of the workers. The supervisors had provided numerous reports as well as updates on activities to the management. Our supervisors had helped the overall team understand the entire performance goals as well as targets. Training along with ensuring the fact that workers have been properly provided with training for their specific roles. Our supervisors had coordinated the job rotations along with the cross training. Sharing the updates regarding the company, results in the aspects of finance along with the new objectives along with the team members. Assisting in the resolving the emergencies like a quality or a customer problem which should be escalated to the supervisor of the team for the purpose of handling.
Identification as well as resolving workplace issues including the absenteeism and tardiness. The main functions that had been performed by the supervisors include the fact that they were able to function, plan as well as organize, they had helped in planning our daily work, scheduling the workers by guiding us the overall nature of our work and also divide the entire work among the employees as per their interests, skills, aptitudes as well as interests. The major role of the supervisors involve the offering the feedback. Some important functions that had been performed by the supervisors in our internship include controlling the facilities, under supervision, the supervisors had kept a very close eye on us that is the subordinates. Whenever the supervisor found any flaw in the entire work progress, he tried rectifying us then and there itself.
From this reflection, it could be stated that the internship had helped me in the process of strengthening the processes that are used in marketing. Besides this, I had understood the fact that the relationship between the seller and a buyer is very important for a certain organization. This had been actually the reason due to which I had undertaken the internship in this particular organization. The internship was self-organized in nature, here I had come to know that numerous projects are carried out using different resources. These resources are very different in nature and perform different functions in the project. Every resources weather materialistic or human resource have their own contribution in the entire project. This internship had provided me sufficient knowledge regarding how a specific business organization is consulted and managed. How the consumers as well as the sellers are organized.
This particular internship had provided me a certain chance for dealing with the entire business clients, I had also analyzed the overall situations and hence generate feedbacks in an effective manner. I had also felt numerous challenges in this particular internship, besides this, I had learnt some of the issues solving strategies, these strategies can be used for the purpose of solving issues in numerous aspects. The aim and objective of the internship had been followed by me as well as other interns. We were provided with enough support from the supervisors as well as the organization, we had attained enough knowledge from the internship regarding the marketing strategies that could be used by a certain organization for better business processes.
