Answer: A number is denoted by a group of digits called numeral. Any system of representing numbers as the decimal system or the binary system is called number system. We have ten digit namely 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 are called zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine respectively.
Various types of numbers are
- Natural number: Counting number are called natural numbers. Thus 1, 2,3,4,5…. are all natural numbers.
- Whole number: All counting number and ‘0’ form the set of the whole numbers. Thus 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,7…etc whole number.
- Integers: all counting numbers, zero and negatives of counting numbers from the set of integers.
- Even and Odd number.
- Prime number.
- Composite number
