    The probability that a trainee will remain with a company is 0.6. The probability that an employee earns more than Rs.10, 000 per year is 0.5. The probability that an employee is a trainee who remained with the company or who earns more than Rs.10, 000 per year is 0.7. What is the probability that an employee earns more than Rs.10, 000 per year given that he is a trainee who stayed with the company.

    b) The odds against student X solving a Business statistics problem are 8 to 6, and odds in favour of student Y solving the problem are 14 to 16.

    1. What is the chance that the problem will be solved if they both try independent of each other?

    2. What is the probability that none of them is able to solve the problem?
