    An ore contains 35.2% of the mineral hematite, Fe2O3, which is a source of the element Fe. How much ore must be processed in order to obtain 47.0 kg of Fe?

    Hi, Say we need to process y kg

    Since 35.2% of the ore is Fe2O3 , Hence .352*y kg would be Fe2O3. Now in molecular weight of Fe2O3 is 159.6887 gm … and that of Fe 55.8452 , now you know that out of 159.6887 gram u ll get 55.8452 gram of Fe, so for 47 kg of Fe you need (55.8452/159.6887 * 47 ) Fe2O3 and hence you need (55.8452/159.6887 * 47 )/.35 kg of ore.
