    Explain one negative externality that could occur due to the building of a new airport.

    Answer:
    A negative externality is a third party cost that is produced by some economic activity but which is not paid by the entities that are directly involved in the activity.

    During the building of a new airport, there may be noise pollution due to the construction work and also, after it is built, people around the airport will still have an externality of noise pollution because of the flight take offs and landings and also due to traffic around the airport.
