INTRODUCTION

Violence against women become a serious problem in Canada. While significant efforts have been taken by the Government and people to prevent women from violence and secure their life. Besides all these efforts, unfortunately, in every corner of the world it is still continuing. In Canada after research by people or police it shows that woman are more likely to be victims of different kinds of violence, to exemplify, intimate partner violence , sexual violence and stalking etcetera. To a surprise, the actual incidences of violence acts are much higher than reported.

RESEARCH

According to a recent survey men were responsible for majority of the violence committed against women. The estimate is said to be 83 percent. Out of which, younger women are most at risk of violence. Sexual assault is one of the top five most common violent offences committed against women in Canada (Sinha, 2018). Over 173,600 women aged 15 and older were the victims of violent crimes in 2011 as indicated by Police-reported data. According to a research by international charity ActionAid in 2016, 44 percent of women surveyed had been groped in India in public. Research on Bangladesh shows that 84 percent of women experienced sexual advances and derogatory comments in public. 99 percent of women surveyed have come across sexual harassment in seven regions in Egypt. (Women, 2013).

RISK FACTORS

The self-reported violent victimization for aboriginal women in the province was about 2.5 times higher than the rate for non- Aboriginal women according to the 2009 General Social Survey, the rate of self –reported violent victimization that the rate of aboriginal women was about 2.5 higher than non- aboriginal women. The report also indicates that single women was approximately four times that of aboriginal women. Risk for women in protection and security is increasing. Crimes like molestation are still prevailing in the world that litigate itself to be gender equal and secure. These crimes have to abolish in order to bring peace into the world.

IMPACTS

Violence against women is existing not only in Canada but most parts of the world. It is an alarming issue which needs to be paid serious attention. The loss is not only of the ones facing it but of those too who live in the same societies. Protection issues comes out to be on the top. During a crime, the harm is not physical itself but comes up with mental harm too. They suffer both physical and mental harm. Violence and crime affects the victim’s health and emotions as well. Many such cases are not even reported to the police. This is so because they think and take care of it as a personal matter and does not want to get involved with the police. This may sometimes come to a conclusion where everything gets sorted out but still the victim cannot get out of the mental her caused to her. Overall, the impact of crimes is on a woman’s health, emotions and security. In some countries, there prevails crimes such as honour killing, where the family kills their daughters if she marry to a man against their will. Such crimes needs to e eradicated from the root for the better society.

CONCLUSION

In a nutshell, the crimes against women have been prevailing from very beginning and needs to be shut down. As stated in research, there are a plethora of violence acts existing and women are facing them throughout the world. Government and people itself needs to step out of their houses and altogether fight for the sake of peace of women and the world they abide in. This article shows the existence of violence and crimes and the women facing it all over the world and related losses.

Government has initiated a number of acts in order to put this violence to a stop but that seems out to be incomplete. More awareness needs to be spread and acts to be made to make this world crime free and remove all the inequalities of gender.
