LabSim Lab review question for week 1 to 5

Week1

Connecting Network Media

The focus of the lab in this week is to review the basics of connecting network media to a personal computer. You will learn how to complete the assigned tasks by using LabSim software. After you have completed the labs in this week, please share your views with your fellow students by posting to the discussion forum, reflecting on the following:

  • Which tasks of the labs did you find most valuable and why?
  • Do you think they are challenging, and what makes them challenging for you?
  • Which tasks of the labs do you think are less valuable, and why do you think so?
  • Discuss or share with your fellow students any resources, advice, or tips to enrich your lab experiences.

Answer:

  • Selecting and installing a network device for a computer is most valuable because without choosing proper/compatible hardware Internet device you cannot use Internet from your computer at all.
  • Section of proper hardware modem/cable/jack is kind of difficult for first-time The challenging this is to find the best fit.
  • Everything is important for us to use a computer with Internet, we can't say this is less because without handling each thing may they are quite small we cannot work properly.
  • My advice is to others is please read description/details of each component that we are using, carefully and remember it(maybe search on Internet separately to get in deep information).

Week2

Networking Devices and Standards

The focus of the lab in this week is to familiarize you with various networking technologies and designs and describe troubleshooting tips.

Answer:

  • Most important thing is to find correct network device (i.e. router, hubs, switches, bridges ) information and you can access them and configure them.
  • Accessing/ configuring various network components in complex network topologies is a challenging work, It’ll be more tough if you don’t know the structure of network and privileges.
  • Enabling and Disabling the network connection is a less valuable task, moreover configuring it is more valuable. Anyone can do it very easily but configuring is tuff.
  • We should read more details information on the router, switches, hubs etc. like on which ISO layer they work and what are the procedures and limitations.

Week3

TCP/IP and IP Services

The focus of the lab in this week is to familiarize you with various network protocols, including the widely used TCP/IP protocol suite and vendor-specific protocols.

Answer:

  • Finding Transport and Network layer protocols and how to use them is a valuable
  • The challenging thing is the configuration of various protocols.
  • Everything is important in this section because here are the main configurations which are the basis of our further Internet communication.
  • We should understand and learn the IP configuration correctly because anything even a bit goes wrong and you will not be able to access Internet on your

Week4

Operating Systems and WANs

The focus of the lab in this week is on the basic characteristics of Internet technologies and requirements for client workstations to connect to an access network resources.

Answer:

  • Sharing resources in the network with proper permissions/security is the most valuable thing because resource sharing very useful and if some wants to share his/her resource(s) the security issue comes first.
  • Sharing information between cross-platform is a bit challenging because it needs lots of work to set permissions and security parameters.
  • I want to suggest the, we should be careful while sharing information in a network, we have checked all security parameters very correctly otherwise our system can be hacked or resources can be damaged/corrupt.

Week5

Network Protection and Troubleshooting

The focus of the lab in this week is on internetwork security, backup and restore operations, disaster prevention, and recovery of data and to use troubleshooting techniques to isolate, diagnose, and resolve network communication problems.

Answer:

  • Finding breakdowns is most valuable, in a network if one can't connect to other nodes. We must be able to short out the problem by finding where the problem is? Is that configuration problem or hardware/physical problem. When we know the exactly where and what making network not accessible we can find a solution for it.
  • Challenging thing is to find the network problem in an unknown topology with minimum access/permissions.
  • Everything is important.
  • To find a problem in a network we must know all necessary commands and when/how to use them. For ease make a list of commands/usages in the beginning stage we can get great benefit.
